Glenn Crytzer Orchestra at the Kingsborough Band Shell
Join the Glenn Crytzer Orchestra for a FREE concert at the Kingsborough band shell. The program will be comprised of swing era classics, original music composed in the vintage style, and music to celebrate Independence Day.
Joining the band: the Syncopated City Dance Company, who will perform vintage Lindy Hop and Jazz Routines.
In the event of rain the concert will move to an indoor facility.
Please note, this is a concert, but I’ve heard of people making their own space to dance.

Always one of the most popular parties of the season, the night hits fever pitch as New York’s best dancers face off for the Ambassador Prize, an homage to Lindy hop icon Frankie Manning.

a 100% swing festival at the FDR Four Freedoms Park that is open to the public. Outdoors on Roosevelt Island:
Travel back in time to the 1940s with swing, jazz, and ballroom hits by Fleur Seule. Led by songbird and band leader Allyson Briggs, Fleur Seule’s 7-piece band plays the music popular in FDR’s time, evoking a bygone era.
From 6:15pm – 7:15pm, learn to swing-dance with lessons for all levels by dancing couple Jerry and Celia Feldman. Then, visitors can practice their new moves from 7:15pm – 9:00pm.
